Each year group's termly overview outlines the topics your child will cover in each subject, along with other key information. We encourage you to use these documents as a way to explore your child's learning at home so that they are excited and curious about their upcoming topics.

  • Jason Donovan visits Aldersbrook! A surprise for our beloved Mr. Hughes

    On a memorable day at Aldersbrook, staff and parents orchestrated an unforgettable surprise for Mr. Hughes as he prepares to bid farewell in the next few weeks. The surprise involved a visit from superstar Jason Donovan! The day was filled with excitement, singing, joy and even tears, as the school community came together to create an unforgettable farewell experience for the irreplaceable Mr. Hughes.

    The surprise visit from Jason Donovan undoubtedly left a lasting impression on him. We hope that this day will be etched in his memory forever. The uncanny resemblance between Jason Donovan and Mr. Hughes added an extra layer of fun and fanfare, making it a standout memory for everyone who finally witnessed the two Australian superstars standing side by side!

    The event was a collective effort, with appreciation extended to all staff and parents who played a crucial role in making this surprise possible, especially Miss Crouch. It is a day being hailed as possibly the most memorable in Aldersbrook Primary School history. The emotions, the surprises and the community spirit demonstrated will continue to be cherished, symbolising our love and appreciation for a headteacher that has changed the lives of countless people. Thank you, Mr Hughes!

  • Year 5 & 6 - The Wallace Collection Visit

    Pupils in Years 5 and 6 recently had the enriching opportunity to visit The Wallace Collection, where they honed their portrait skills. The experience was both educational and inspiring, providing our pupils with a hands-on encounter with art that fostered creativity and a deeper understanding of portraiture. This visit contributed to our pupils' artistic development, making it a memorable and valuable experience for all involved. Thank you to Mrs Alveranga for organising this educational visit.

  • 4HK Cornet Concert

Our young musicians showcased their impressive progress and newfound skills on the cornet, delivering a performance that filled the room with musical joy.     Year 6 recently took part in a 'Body Boundaries, Consent and Respect' workshop. This session empowered our pupils and helped them understand the importance of personal boundaries, consent and cultivating a culture of respect. It also provides our pupils with practical insights and tools, equipping them with valuable skills as they navigate the transition to adolescence.   • 'The 2 Johns' Online Safety Parent Workshop (Virtual)

    This year, our online safety workshop will be delivered virtually by 'The 2 Johns'. This will take place in the evening between 8pm - 9:30pm on Monday 27th November 2023.

    Parent workshops at Aldersbrook are an important community event!

    Please have a look at the poster attached along with a guide on how to register and log in. The Zoom link for the session can be found on the poster and in the guide.

    We urge you to sign up as soon as possible as this session is crucial for keeping children safe online. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Anti-Bullying Week 2023

    Aldersbrook Primary School is proud to actively participate in Anti-Bullying Week 2023 through a range of impactful initiatives. We had workshops that were delivered by a passionate ex-student who understands the challenges young people face. Their personal journey and insights inspired and empowered our pupils.

    In addition to this, we had special assemblies delivered in collaboration with the Christian Education Project. These assemblies focused on promoting kindness, empathy, and respect, while addressing the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment for all. We're excited to come together as a school community to raise awareness and stand up against bullying during this important week.
