Getty Artworks Recreation Challenge
I know that it is Easter holidays and many of you are having a well-deserved break but we thought we would send out some information about a great Art challenge that you may want to take part in while we are all on lockdown if you wanted a fun way to fill in some time and learn about Art! Despite museums closing their doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a chance for your child/ren to feel artistically inspired from the comfort of their homes.
Last week, the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles sent out a tweet asking individuals self-isolating at home to recreate their favourite pieces of artwork. But there’s a catch: Pupils had to make their masterpieces using everyday household items. In other words, pretty much anything goes! Artists can select images from the Getty’s online photo archive, which contains two million images from the museum’s massive collection of paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures.
